U.S. spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) investing in Bitcoin recorded a combined net outflow of $1.282 billion during the trading week of November 2–6, 2026. The bulk of the outflows came from BlackRock’s largest Bitcoin fund, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), according to data from the analytics firm Farside Investors.
Negative flows were observed in four out of five trading sessions. The most significant outflow was recorded on November 5, when investors withdrew $430.2 million. A day later, the funds lost another $411.9 million.
At the beginning of the week, the decline in investments was also significant. At the close of trading on November 2, the net outflow totaled $398.6 million, and on November 3, it was $115.6 million.
The only day with positive growth was Wednesday, November 4, when the funds attracted $74.6 million. However, this result was not enough to offset the large-scale outflows during the other trading sessions.
The most significant decline in investments occurred in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust. Over five trading days, the net outflow from this fund reached $1.21 billion, which accounts for approximately 94% of the total weekly outflow from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs.
The largest declines in investments in the IBIT were observed on November 2, when investors withdrew $405.3 million, and on November 6, when outflows reached $403 million. Even on November 4, when the entire Bitcoin ETF market closed with a positive result, the BlackRock fund lost $201.2 million.
At the same time, the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) showed mixed performance. Specifically, on November 4, it attracted $236.7 million, posting the largest net inflow among U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs. However, by November 5, investors had withdrawn $199.9 million from the fund.
Outflows were also observed in the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF, the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF, and other investment products, although their impact on the overall figure was significantly smaller.
The negative trend in institutional flows was accompanied by a decline in Bitcoin’s price. Between October 30 and November 6, the price of the leading cryptocurrency fell from approximately $77,400 to $75,800, losing about 2%.
On November 4, Bitcoin temporarily rose above $80,000, but the very next day, the market faced a new wave of selling.
The decline in investments in Bitcoin ETFs occurred amid ongoing uncertainty regarding U.S. monetary policy, heightened volatility in the stock markets, and the aftermath of a large-scale cyberattack on Binance.
Capital outflows from ETFs do not necessarily mean that all institutional investors are directly selling Bitcoin. However, the negative trend in net flows reflects a decline in demand for these investment products and may intensify downward pressure on market prices.
By comparison, during the previous trading week, October 26–30, the net outflow from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs totaled $202.4 million. Thus, in the first week of November, the volume of capital outflows increased more than sixfold.
Despite the massive weekly outflow, the cumulative net inflow into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs since their launch has remained positive and stood at approximately $55.77 billion as of November 6.
The future trend in ETF flows will be one of the key indicators of institutional demand for Bitcoin. A resumption of sustained capital inflows could help stabilize the market, while continued outflows could limit the prospects for a price recovery.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs began trading in January 2024 following approval by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). These instruments allow investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin’s value through traditional exchange infrastructure without having to store the cryptocurrency themselves. Major asset managers include BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, and ARK Invest.
