U.S. spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) investing in Ethereum recorded a combined net outflow of $431.4 million during the trading week of October 26–30, 2026. Negative flows were observed throughout all five trading sessions, according to data from the analytics firm Farside Investors.
The most significant decline in investments occurred on October 30, when investors withdrew $155.7 million from the funds. The day before, the net outflow amounted to $105.5 million. At the start of the week, the figures also remained negative: on October 26, the funds lost $88.6 million; on October 27, $60.2 million; and on October 28, $21.4 million.
The bulk of the capital outflow was concentrated in BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA). Over five trading days, net outflows from this fund reached $391.1 million, or about 91% of the total weekly outflow from U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs.
At the same time, the Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH) attracted $63.1 million over the week. This partially offset the decline in investments in other investment products.
Sales also affected the Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE), from which $37 million was withdrawn over the week. Another Grayscale product, the Ethereum Mini Trust ETF, ended the week with a net outflow of about $31.6 million.
According to Farside Investors, the cumulative net capital inflow into U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs since the launch of these instruments in July 2024, as of October 30, 2026, totaled approximately $12.32 billion. Thus, despite the negative flows in recent weeks, the cumulative result remained positive.
By comparison, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net outflow of $202.4 million during the same period, October 26–30. At the same time, the situation with funds tracking the leading cryptocurrency was significantly different: during the first four trading days of the week, they attracted $440.8 million; however, on Friday, October 30, outflows reached $643.2 million, completely offsetting the previous inflows.
Thus, the weekly capital outflow from Ethereum ETFs was more than double that of Bitcoin funds.
The decline in institutional demand coincided with a drop in the prices of leading cryptocurrencies. By the end of the week, Ethereum was trading around $2,240, while Bitcoin fell below $78,000.
The negative trend in the ETF may reflect increased caution among investors amid uncertainty in financial markets, the U.S. Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, and heightened risks to the cryptocurrency infrastructure.
An additional source of pressure was the large-scale cyberattack on Binance on October 29, which, according to the exchange itself, resulted in the theft of digital assets worth approximately $6.3 billion. However, the available data does not confirm a direct causal link between this incident and the outflow of funds from Ethereum ETFs.
Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) allow institutional and retail investors to gain exposure to the performance of the second-largest cryptocurrency without having to store digital assets themselves. Among the largest managers of such funds are BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, and other investment firms.
