Restructuring talks heat up

The Ukrainian government is accelerating negotiations with bondholders this week, which began as early as yesterday between both sides and should finally resulted in a conference call scheduled for Friday. Although the MoF's announcement of this comes just before the results of the IMF mission report which are expected to be very positive, we do not anticipate an agreement this week. While this acceleration is a very positive step which should yield positive results very soon, it could also be the most difficult as both sides remain unwilling to make concessions. The bondholders refuse to agree to the haircut in principal that the MoF deems crucial.
