The local Ukrainian Exchange jumped up on Friday ahead of the key parliamentary election, while most of the rest of the world was fairly neutral as investors braced for news about the hurricane set to hit the U.S. east coast. The UX rose 5.4% with all 10 blue chips moving up 4.0-7.2%. Warsaw’s WIG-Ukraine index fell 0.6%; seven of its 11 components lost ground. The worst performers were Sadovaya Group (SGR PW) -4.3% and Westa (WES PW) -3.5%. Most Ukrainian equities trading in London advanced, led by DUPD (DUPD LN) +3.8% and Ferrexpo (FXPO LN) +2.2%. We expect a lower open for local names today.
