Ukrainian equities were little changed on Thursday, April 16. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks were down 0.8%. Its two biggest components had lackluster days. Grain trader Kernel (KER PW) was down 1.8% and sugar maker Astarta (AST PW) closed flat. Two notable gainers were farming company KSG Argo (KSG PW +4.7%) and Agroton (AGT PW +4.3%). Doing poorly on the day were illiquid shares of coal miner Sadovaya Group (SGR PW) falling 5.7%. In London, the most actively traded Ukrainian stock, iron ore miner Ferrexpo (FXPO LN) was up 3.3%. Poultry giant MHP (MHPC LI) rose 3.6%, while egg giant Avangardco (AVGR LI) was up 0.2%. The Ukrainian Exchange (UX) Index of Kyiv-traded stocks inched up 0.1% aided by Alchevsk Iron & Steel (ALMK UK +3.0%). On the downside was oil and gas company Ukrnafta (UNAF UK -3.8%).
