The European Commission placed on June 10 ten-year bonds worth EUR 500 mln to be used as macro financial aid for Ukraine, the Interfax news agency reported, citing the Commission’s press service. Ukraine may get the money on June 17, the press service said, which would be the second tranche from the EU’s macro financial program for Ukraine worth EUR 1.6 bln. In May, Ukraine received the first tranche of EUR 100 mln. A third tranche, up to EUR 500 mln, may arrive in three months, providing Ukraine will comply with the conditions of the IMF’s standby program.

Alexander Paraschiy: IMF cooperation is running smoothly so far as the agreement with Ukraine has paved the way for more funding. It takes some time to arrange all the wires, especially with the EU. However, we expect ongoing steady financial flows, which will relax pressure on the ForEx during the upcoming months.
