Ukrainian equities offered investors some big gains and losses in trading on Thursday, October 31. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks slid 1.2%, concluding the month at a 10.2% plunge. The biggest mover was sugar maker Astarta (AST PW -3.4%), which has plummeted 11.5% in five straight negative sessions. The stock’s value fell 12.3% in October. The Index’s most liquid stock, grain trader Kernel (KER PW -0.7%), dropped 15.8% in October to its lowest price in nearly four years. Outside the Index, Serinus Energy (SEN PW +4.1%) has surged 13.2% in three straight positive sessions, finishing the month at a 9.2% gain. In London, iron ore miner Ferrexpo (FXPO LN) dropped 3.8%, concluding October at a 2.5% advance. The Ukrainian Exchange (UX) Index of Kyiv-traded stocks improved 0.8%, concluding the month at a 2.3% gain. The biggest mover was oil producer Ukrnafta (UNAF UK +2.8%), which bounced off its lowest price in more than four years reached in the prior session.
