Ukrainian stocks moved back into positive territory on Tuesday, though bourses elsewhere in the frontier and European equity space continued to track lower on concern about the European debt crisis. The local UX added 0.4%, to snap a five-day losing streak, with six of 10 blue chips in the green. Electricity generators and banks were among the best performers, with Centrenergo (CEEN UK) +1.8%, Donbasenergo (DOEN UK) +1.1%, Ukrsotsbank (USCB UK) +1.7% and Raiffeisen Bank Aval (BAVL UK) +0.5%. In Warsaw, the WIG-Ukraine index also managed to record a gain, though only three index components were up. The biggest drivers of the index’s move were Westa (WES PW) +7.8% and Kernel (KER PW) +2.4%.
