Ukrainian equities kicked off the week surging on the Ukrainian Exchange, which shot up 5.0% after positive news surrounding the ceasefire. Fueling the gains were Avdiyivka Coke (AVDK UK +20.5%), Yenakieyeve Steel (ENMZ UK +14.2%) and steel maker Azovstal (AZST UK +11.6%). In Warsaw, the WIG Ukraine Index improved 1.1%, pulled up by sugar maker Astarta (AST PW +3.1%). Most of the Index’s illiquid stocks advanced, led by car battery maker WESTA (WES PW +11.5%), farmer Agroton (AGT PW +4.3%) and Coal Energy (CLE PW +3.4%). In London, iron ore miner and pellet maker Ferrexpo (FXPO LN) surged 3.1%, snapping a four-session skid in which it plunged 14.7%. Regal Petroleum (RPT LN) plummeted 7.1% and egg producer Avangardco (AVGR LI) plunged 6.8%, extending its loss streak to five sessions at a 13.9% loss. JKX Oil & Gas (JKX LN -3.2%) has fallen 10.8% in five straight negative sessions.
