Ukrainian equities concluded a losing week on a positive note on Friday, Sept. 12. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks improved 0.3%, finishing the week at a 2.9% loss. Its biggest component, grain trader and sunflower oil maker Kernel (KER PW -0.2%), concluded the week at a 4.3% loss. The session’s top gainers were KSG Agro (KSG PW +9.9%), which finished the week at a 24.0% gain, and KDM Shipping (KDM PW +9.9%), which concluded the week at a 7.2% loss. Outside the Index, oil & gas explorer Serinus Energy (SEN PW) rose 7.2%, extending its win streak to four sessions at an 11.7% advance. In London, the most actively traded Ukrainian stock, iron ore miner and pellet maker Ferrexpo (FXPO LN), was unchanged in trading on Friday, finishing the week at a 3.6% loss. Regal Petroleum (RPT LN) improved 3.0%, extending its win streak to three sessions at a 10.1% gain. The Ukrainian Exchange (UX) Index of Kyiv-traded stocks increased 1.3%, concluding the week at a 3.1% loss. Friday’s biggest mover was Unicredit’s Ukrsotsbank (USCB UK +8.4%), which finished the week at a 3.5% advance. Power GenCo Donbasenergo (DOEN UK +3.4%) has risen 13.4% in three straight winning sessions.
