Ukrainian equities concluded an otherwise lack week with slight gains on international stock exchanges on Friday, May 2. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks rose just 0.3% finishing the week at a 0.4% loss. Its biggest component, grain trader and sunflower oil producer Kernel (KER PW) gained 1.3%, still concluding the week down 0.2%. The biggest losers were car battery producer WESTA (WES PW, -7.4%) which was down 9.4% on the week, Agroton (AGT PW, -6.2%) down 1.9% on the week, and KSG Agro (KSG PW, -5.6%) with a weekly loss of 4.2%. In London, the most widely traded Ukrainian stock, iron ore miner Ferrexpo (FXPO LN, -0.2%) was down 3.2% on the week’s trading. The biggest loser in London was Regal Petroleum (RPT LN) which fell -3.1% in the day giving it a 14.4% loss for the week. The Ukrainian exchange was closed for a holiday on Friday, as well as on Thursday. This week will also be short for the Ukrainian exchange – it will be closed for Victory Day on Friday, May 9. Today, the London stock exchange is closed.
