The mild activity in trading on Wednesday, January 8 was punctuated by bottom fishing in Warsaw. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks was unchanged as investors targeted such depressed equities as coal miner Sadovaya Group (SGR PW +16.4%) and Coal Energy (CLE PW +7.1%). They dumped their shares of car battery producer WESTA (WES PW -4.2%) and took their profit from farmer Agroton (AGT PW -3.0%), which surged 22.1% in the prior session. Outside the Index, Serinus Energy (SEN PW) plunged 3.7%. In London, the biggest mover was Cadogan Petroleum (CAD LN -2.4%). The Ukrainian Exchange Index of Kyiv-traded stocks slid 1.0%, weighed down by UniCredit’s Ukrsotsbank (USCB UK -3.4%). Outside the Index, Ukrtelecom jumped 9.4%.
