Ukrainian stocks traded in Europe offered investors some big gains and losses in trading on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks rose 0.5%, led by farmer Agroton (AGT PW), whose shares surged 22.1%. They finished 2013 at an 81% loss. The Index’s biggest decliner in Tuesday trading was coal miner Sadovaya (SGR PW -3.5%). In London, Regal Petroleum (RPT LN) bounced 14.9% after falling 13.0% in two sessions to its lowest price since November 2010. Bank of Georgia (BGEO LN) surged 5.7% to its highest price since its February 2012 listing. Egg producer Avangard (AVGR LI) dropped 3.7% after jumping 4.7% in the prior session. The Ukrainian Exchange (UX) Index of Kyiv-traded stocks will resume trading today. Its last active session was on Dec. 30, concluding 2013 at a 4% loss.
