Ukrainian equities closed the week with big gains and losses on Friday, November 22. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks slid 0.5%, finishing the week at a 1.8% gain. The Index’s biggest mover was car battery maker WESTA (WES PW -3.2%), which concluded the week at a 6.2% loss. On the positive side, Milkiland (MLK PW +3.0%) finished the week at a 4.4% advance. The Index’s most liquid stock, grain trader Kernel (KER PW -1.1%), concluded the week at a 3.4% increase. In London, Bank of Georgia (BGEO LN +4.2%) continued to break new highs since its February 2012 debut, finishing the week at a 7.3% gain. Egg producer Avangard (AVGR LI -4.0%) concluded the week at a 6.3% loss. The most traded Ukrainian stock, iron ore miner Ferrexpo (FXPO LN +2.4%), finished the week at a 3.3% loss. The Ukrainian Exchange (UX) Index of Kyiv-traded stocks improved 1.1%, concluding the week at a 1.7% increase. The biggest factor was power generator Donbasenergo (DOEN UK +2.8%), which has surged 14.2% in nine straight winning sessions.
