US dollar drops, hryvnia spikes

The hryvnia jumped nearly 9%% to close at 20.75/USD yesterday. Interfax reported that the NBU did not intervene into the narrow market. On a positive note, China and the NBU successfully extended the FX currency swap agreement. Although the US posted weak 1Q2015 results that propelled the euro 1.34% higher, the US Fed commented that the economic slowdown is due to 'transitory factors'.
