Liquidity concentrates at banks' accounts

Over the past two days, liquidity was reallocated to banks' correspondent accounts, up UAH2.00bn to UAH42.02bn yesterday, while total CDs outstanding declined UAH1.77bn to UAH56.16bn. As a result, banking sector liquidity rose a mere UAH0.23bn to UAH98.18bn.

Investment implications: Liquidity was reallocated to banks' accounts prior to month-end tax payments that started yesterday, putting pressure on liquidity, which should accelerate and continue through the beginning of next week. We do not expect a significant decline in liquidity.
