Volume was thin on Dec. 25 as the West was celebrating Christmas. The Ukrainian Exchange (UX) Index rose 1.2%, driven by power generators Donbasenergo (DOEN UK +2.4%) and Centerenergo (CEEN UK +2.0%). DOEN has had sharp oscillations between price rises and falls in recent weeks. On the other hand, CEEN has advanced 20.0% since Nov. 30. Both Ukrsotsbank (USCB UK +1.2%) and Ukrnafta (UNAF UK +0.8%) had their losing streaks interrupted. The exchanges will have low trading volumes for the week’s remainder as the world prepares for the New Year holiday.
