Banking sector liquidity continued to decline slightly yesterday despite minor inflows from the NBU as a new portion of funds were reallocated. Banks' correspondent accounts with the NBU slid UAH0.97bn to UAH37.31bn while total CDs outstanding rose UAH0.75bn to UAH60.04bn. Following a significant reallocation of funds, banking sector liquidity slid UAH0.22bn to UAH97.35bn.

Investment implications: Liquidity declined due to month-end tax payments. Moreover, the NBU's inflow via the FX market covered only a part of the outflows, causing liquidity to decline by only UAH0.22bn. The NBU purchased a new portion of FX following the UAH50.0m in new bonds sold on Tuesday (UAH51.64m in local currency proceeds yesterday). Liquidity could see additional fund reallocations today with a slight decline in total liquidity.
